Create WordPress accounts for new CRM contacts without confusing them with automatic welcome emails, when they access the Client Portal.
There are cases where you want Jetpack CRM to automatically create WordPress accounts for new Client Portal’s contacts, but without sending them the default “Welcome to the Client Portal” email.
Here’s how to set that up safely.
Important: Please follow these steps in the exact order. If you skip ahead, all of your existing contacts could receive welcome emails by mistake.
Step 1: Open mail templates
- In your WordPress dashboard, go to Jetpack CRM → CRM Settings → Mail Templates.
- Find and open the template called “Your Client Portal.”
Step 2: Deactivate the welcome email
- In the top-right corner of the “Your Client Portal” template, click Inactive.
- This will stop the email from being sent automatically.
Step 3: Enable Automatic User Creation
- Go to Jetpack CRM → CRM Settings → Client Portal.
- Check the box for Generate WordPress users for new contacts.
- Save your changes.
Once these steps are complete, new contacts will automatically get WordPress accounts, but they will not receive the standard Client Portal welcome email.
Why creating a WordPress user and not sending a welcome email is useful
Sometimes you want to set up WordPress accounts for your CRM contacts behind the scenes, before they’re ready to log in or before finalizing onboarding.
Creating users silently ensures accounts exist, without sending automated emails that might confuse or overwhelm your contacts.
This is particularly helpful when importing many contacts at once, managing staged rollouts, or needing full control over when clients receive portal access.
