Adding a new contact in Jetpack CRM is quick and straightforward. You don’t need to know everything about a customer to get started: you can always update their details later.
Add a Contact in Jetpack CRM
Getting a contact into Jetpack CRM takes just a few clicks. Provide as much information as you can, and return to enrich it over time.
Always include an email address, as the CRM relies on it to manage communication and avoid duplicates.
You can open the Add Contact screen in two ways:
- Go to Jetpack CRM → Contacts and click Add New Contact.
- From any Jetpack CRM admin page, use the top menu: Contacts → Add New.
Contact Details
Fill in as many details as you know: the more you add, the more useful your CRM becomes.
- Status: choose a status (lead, customer, etc.) to track contacts through your sales process. You can customize statuses in the Contact Field Settings.
- Prefix: Mr, Mrs, etc. This is customizable in the Contact Field Settings.
- First & Last Name: used across CRM features, including invoices.
- Addresses: useful for invoices or sending physical items.
- Phone Numbers: add Home, Work, and/or Mobile numbers. (Mobile is handy for SMS campaigns.)
- Email: the main identifier for contacts. It’s essential for campaigns and integrations with tools like WooCommerce.
- Notes: record anything helpful to remember (e.g., “Prefers phone calls in the morning”).
Contact Tags
Tags help you organize and group your contacts. These are some use cases, but there are many more:
- Add a “VIP” tag for customers who spend more than $1,000.
- Use tags for targeted email campaigns with the Mail Campaigns extension.
- Quickly filter and segment your contacts for better communication.

When you upload files to a contact, they are stored in the following directory:

These files do not go into your WordPress Media Library.
