Ensure that your CSV files are properly formatted and ready to import into Jetpack CRM.
CSV files are simple to create and easy to export from tools like Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets. They’re a convenient way to move data from one place to another.
Prepare your CSV files for importing into Jetpack CRM
The CSV Importer Pro extension can handle most CSV formats. There are a few requirements to ensure everything imports correctly:
- The file must have a
.csvextension. - Items should be comma-separated (the standard format for CSV files).
- Text fields should be wrapped in double quotes to help prevent import errors.
For example, a CSV file with headers and multiple contacts might look like this:
First Name,Last Name,Email,Status,Address 1,City,State,Postcode,Date Added
Jane,Doe,jane.doe@mysite.com,lead,123 Main St,New York,NY,10001,2018-04-29
Jelly,Bean,jelly.bean@mysite.com,lead,,New York,NY,10001,2015-09-13
Additional formatting guidelines:
- Each contact should start on a new line.
- Don’t add a comma or semicolon at the end of a line.
- Avoid extra blank lines between contacts.
Handling empty fields
If a contact doesn’t have data for a specific field, the empty field still needs to appear in the correct position.
For example, in the sample above, the ‘Address 1’ field for Jelly Bean is empty, but the comma is still included to hold its place.
