Import tags with CSV Importer

Import tags in your Jetpack CRM by using the CSV Importer feature and the CSV Importer Pro extension.

There are two ways to import and update tags CSV Importer Pro:

  • You can tag contacts and companies as you import them.

  • You can bulk tag contacts later, after you have created or imported them, using their IDs and emails.

Tag contacts and companies as you import them

To add tags as you import contacts and/or companies, you can follow these steps:

  1. Create a column for the tags in your CSV file; you can name it “contact tags” or “company tags”, for example. If you have different tags to add for companies and contacts, you can also create two separate columns.
  2. Head to the CRM Dashboard on your site.
  3. From the Contacts dropdown menu, select Import.
  4. Choose the CSV file to import and start the importing process.
  5. From the mapping drop-down list, select Tags or Company Tags, depending on your use case.
  6. Once the mapping is completed, proceed with the importing process.

Notes on Tags format

Tags are expected to be listed in a pipe-delineated lists way:

first tag|second tag|third tag

To import tags in Jetpack CRM, tags must appear in a pipe-delinated lists way in the CSV file.

The contact tags will appear in the Contact Edit screen as separate tags.

The company tags will appear in different areas:

  • If tags are added to companies only, they will appear in the Companies Tags screen.
  • If tags are associated with a contact with a Company Name entered in the CSV, they will also appear in the Company Tags area.

Bulk tag contacts

You can add tags to contacts and companies at a later moment after you have completed their import via CSV.
