Getting Started: Installing Jetpack CRM

Note: This guide presumes you already have WordPress installed. If you don’t know what that means, go here first.

Jetpack CRM is a free plugin you can access from the WordPress plugin repository. You can install and/or download it just like any other plugin on your WordPress site.

If you’re not familiar with installing plugins, WordPress provides a fantastic guide for that here.

As you’ll see in that guide, there are three ways to install WordPress plugins:

  • Automatic Plugin Installation. Any plugin available in the WordPress Plugins Directory can be installed via the built-in plugin installer. This is the easiest option, and what we recommend.
  • Upload via the WP Admin dashboard. You can easily add a new plugin by uploading a zip archive of the plugin from your local computer.
  • Manual Plugin Installation. In some cases, you may need to manually upload a plugin directly using an SFTP client.

If you’ll be uploading Jetpack CRM via WP Admin or manually uploading it to your server, you’ll need to download the plugin first. You can do that by visiting this page and clicking the “Download” button.

After installing and activating the Jetpack CRM plugin, you’ll be presented with a 4-step onboarding wizard.

Essentials

Here, you’ll be asked for these essential details, which will be used to set up Jetpack CRM on your site:

  • Company Name / CRM Name
  • What currency should Jetpack CRM use? Select your currency from the dropdown list.
  • What sort of business do you do? Select your business type from the dropdown list.
  • Menu style: Choose your desired menu layout. Jetpack CRM Slimline is the most popular option, and will be selected by default. You can learn more about those menu layout options here.
  • Usage tracking: Choose to enable or disable usage tracking with us. This helps us improve Jetpack CRM based on how people are using it, so we highly recommend enabling this.

You’ll be able to change these settings after Jetpack CRM is installed, so no worries if you click something by accident or change your mind.

Click the “Next” button after you’ve filled in all of those options.

Your Contacts

Here, you can view extensions that will help you easily get your contacts / customers into Jetpack CRM. Click the “Connect your CRM to other services” button to learn more about those extensions.

Click the “Next” button whenever you’re ready to move on to the next step.

We also have a guide on importing customers into your CRM here.

Which Extensions?

Here, you can enable or disable the Quotes, Invoices, and WooSync core modules.

You’ll be able to enable and disable these core modules after Jetpack CRM is installed, so no worries if you click something by accident or change your mind.

Click the “Next” button when you’ve finished choosing which core modules to enable.

Finish

Here, you can subscribe to the Jetpack CRM newsletter to get access to exclusive bonuses and critical update notifications.

Click the “Next” button, then click the “Finish and go to your CRM” button to exit the onboarding wizard and start using Jetpack CRM.

If you experience any issues when installing the Jetpack CRM plugin, please do let us know.
